Lone Star PEO is seeking a dynamic and experienced in-office, full-time position of Staff Accountant to join our team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience
- Strong expertise in managing moderate to high-volume general ledger activities, including accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in QuickBooks Online. Proven solid understanding of system functionality and reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Assist with month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Collaborate with internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Maintain accurate, well-organized, and updated financial records in accordance with established accounting standards
- Self-motivated with strong ownership, attention to detail, and accountability in all areas of work
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Take initiative in identifying process improvements
- Additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
- Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Must have the ability to organize, plan, multi-task, follow up/through and meet deadlines
- Must be highly motivated with strong initiative to learn and perform
- Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and assist all levels of the organization
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
- Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
- PEO experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Requires prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, lifting, and stretching
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate data
- Must be able to lift 10+ pounds with or without assistance

SALARY
- $50,000 - $70,000 based on experience
